Saturday Preview

It is not a great day in college football as far as the top 4 in the rankings go, but it still offers some solid matchups, 3 of which I will look at an predict today...

#16 Virginia Tech travels to Miami to take on the #24 Hurricanes. As much as I want to pick my 'Canes, who have been playing much better since the injury to Harris, I just cannot do it. Morris will be in as the starter again, but he is a freshman against a Bud Foster defense. The Miami defense has been playing very well of late, but so has the Virginia Tech offense. It should be a very good game. Prediction: #16 Virginia Tech 26, #24 Miami 24

#9 Ohio St travels to Iowa City to take on #20 Iowa. The Hawkeyes are coming off a loss at Northwestern, and Ohio St is coming off a beatdown of Penn St. Ohio St has been playing extremely well since the loss at Wisconsin, but Kirk Ferentz is a very good coach in big games. Stanzi is having a great year and has great receivers to throw to as well as solid backs. However, Ohio St is just much too talented, especially at the skill positions. Prediction: #9 Ohio St 34, #20 Iowa 24

The final game I will look at is #8 Nebraska traveling to College Station and Kyle Field to take on the #19 Texas A&M Aggies. This will be a fascinating game, with two very contrasting styles of play. Nebraska likes to pound the ball and play hard-nosed defense, while the Aggies love to air it out and play so-so defense. However, the Aggies have been committing to the run game lately, which has given them a huge lift. Nebraska's fantastic road offense will be too much for A&M to overcome though, and the Huskers will win. Prediction: #8 Nebraska 31, #19 Texas A&M 21
